"Oprah's BIG Give" TV Show Inspires
Atlanta’s "Gandhi-King-GIVE" Project
- - -
Atlanta: City of Peace, GA. U.S.A.
.
WHO: The finale of “Oprah's BIG GIVE” TV Show (ABC-TV) was April 20. It premiered with ~16 Million viewers (~400,000 from Atlanta) and triumphed in the Nielsen ratings. Stephen Paletta (New York) was chosen as Oprah's Big Give Winner. He proclaimed: "I'm in shock. It was such an incredible honor and privilege to be part of this show and to be chosen as the biggest giver with all these wonderful people." Millions of people, thousands of organizations and corporations are now inspired to “give back” and give BIG to their communities. A Georgia nonprofit has been inspired to create a Special Project called: "Gandhi-King-GIVE!" By the end of 2008 its aim is to direct $8 Million in new funding to these respected nonprofits: The Gandhi Foundation USA and The King Center (Note: GIVE directly to them because this project is NOT a collection point for donations). "Our goal is to generate support ideas and everyone is invited to assist with every area of development and success," states John Naugle, Executive Director.
.
WHERE: The City of Atlanta is home to: The Gandhi Foundation USA and The King Center. "Our developing ‘TEAM’ (which welcomes YOU) aspires to emulate the fast pace and urgency of Oprah’s BIG GIVE TV Show teams. Help us build Atlanta’s “Gandhi-King Global Peace Connection!” Gandhi and King GAVE BIG to our global family and WE can give big to their legacies. Will ATL’s New Millennium history mention your participation? Let's together courageously set a New Millennium precedent of inspiration and properly honor Gandhi and King!" The project also welcomes any and all event producers and PR specialists’ participation. Their goal is to engage a huge PR firm like Burson-Marsteller (global PR experts) to launch and promote their ‘Oprah-inspired’ peace initiative into the national and international media. John Naugle proclaims: "Oprah is a huge inspiration and example for millions of people worldwide and has inspired us to create our ‘Gandhi-King-GIVE’ Special Project. In special ways Oprah is a protégé of Coretta Scott King (Founder of the King Center, Matriarch of the Gandhi Foundation USA, and Angel-Inspiration for Atlanta: City of Peace, Inc). Her new ‘Oprah's BIG GIVE’ TV Show, plus her many other social-health projects, has inspired many. Do not be surprised when Oprah is eventually be seen on this list: ‘Heroines for Peace’."
.
WHAT: Atlanta: City of Peace, Inc. (ACP) is a grassroots inter-faith nonprofit that incorporated shortly after Coretta Scott King's death in 2006. ACP’s mission is to build Atlanta’s global peace legacy by honoring its “Gandhi-King Global Peace Connection.” Gandhi and Dr. King are two of the world’s most respected peacemakers and social-health architects. In addition to the Gandhi-King-GIVE" Special Project, ACP also has specific plans to foster a New Millennium building-boom in Atlanta so that it can utilize its “World’s Biggest Airport” to greatly further the budding global Peace through Tourism Industry (Note: IIPT invited to relocate to Atlanta). ACP’s plans will deliver a phenomenal windfall of economic and societal reward to business, civic and government entities through building several large-scale projects, including:
The Global Peace Academy (ATL)
The Global Peace Garden (ATL)
The Global Peace Museum (ATL)
The Global Peace Tower (ATL)
.
WHY: Year 2008 is a perfect year for ACP to launch the “Gandhi-King-Give” Special Project because it is the 60th and 40th Memorial Anniversaries of Gandhi's and Dr. King's tragic murders. To memorialize their globally-respected sacrifices for Peace and Non-Violence, ACP is inviting EVERYONE statewide-worldwide (through their Website and future Webcast) to assist. All donors wanting to financially support: The Gandhi Foundation USA and The King Center are asked to GIVE by contacting them directly (after ACP secures legal authorization directly from these organizations, it will have a central donation link).
WHEN: Date and time of our BIG “Gandhi-King-GIVE Celebration (now being planned for later in 2008) will be announced. Ideal location: In the “Heart” of Dr. King’s birthplace. We are hoping that Oprah will help (she is being invited, and her decision is pending). All individuals and businesses (local-global) are invited to help plan, sponsor and produce this campaign and event. Public Relations professionals, radio stations, event planners, corporate sponsors and new media broadcasters/outlets are invited to engage/volunteer “NOW.”
